Alpha Industries is an American brand with over 65 years of history, whose jackets literally shaped American pop culture. Founded in 1959 as a supplier to the US Department of Defense, the company manufactured flight jackets for Air Force pilots. It was then that the legendary MA-1 bomber was born.
The MA-1 Flight Jacket became one of the most recognizable pieces of clothing in history. It was worn by pilots in Vietnam, punks in 70s London, skinheads and rude boys in the 80s, and rappers and streetwear fans in the 90s and 2000s. Each generation found its own meaning in it – and that is a sign of a true icon. Today, the MA-1 is produced in the same form as in 1963: a nylon shell, an orange lining (for emergencies), and a distinctive sleeve pocket.
Alpha Industries is not just about the bomber.
